In MUN Club, Darüşşafaka High School students become acquainted with debate techniques, take part in the international competitions, and learn how to reflect on global issues, share and advocate their views.
During the conferences where the issues on UN's agenda are addressed, the students act like they are states and international organizations (such as human rights organizations) that are represented in the UN. By this way, the students not only improve their research and self-expression skills, but also learn how to draft official documents, make a public speech, and persuade others.
In the conferences, the students understand the importance of adopting a team spirit rather than taking a personal angle on global issues, working out a solution upon discussion rather than quarrel, they learn to be constructive in lieu of destructive and take the side of peace as opposed to fighting.
